Ready to Begin Your Training Hearts Course Adventure?

We are so glad you’ve chosen to join us for this semester of Training Hearts for Jesus!

To All our Parents!

We are so excited that you've decided to join us! We are certain that if you invest yourself faithfully, your family will be transformed by the truths of God's Word as taught through this course.  The biblically driven information and practical applications will bring your family more peace and glory to God!

Please read through this email carefully and completely. Please also pass it along to your spouse and have him/her read it as well.

You will both need this information.  In fact, we ask that both spouses be subscribed to this email, having access to the weekly Zoom link and class information. As you are the one who received this email, you are subscribed.  To have your spouse subscribe, go to www.TrainingHearts.org, find "Subscribe" on the homepage and click the button. Once completed with your spouses information, you will both receive the weekly emails, and the TH newsletters with current parenting helps and resources.

Attending the Class:

Monday, January 12, 2026

Online at 7:00 p.m. PDT

Our Online Classroom link will always be found in your

January 2026 Community Thread

Sign in to www.traininghearts.org and find your account login in the upper right corner. Click on "My Library". This is where you will find two products:

--THfJ Biblical Parenting Course, where you will find all your course materials.

--The Community Thread for communications with your instructors and your classmates.

When signing into the Zoom classroom, we ask that you include both dad and mom's first names with your last name (ie: "Joe and Jane Smith"). This serves as your class name tag and allows us to get to know you.  To do this, go to your Zoom profile and edit your "display names".

When class is in session, both parents must appear on Zoom, or it will be considered an absence.  Please turn your camera on.  We understand momentary disappearances to childcare.

When you log into Zoom, click "chat" at the bottom of the screen and sign in with both names.  Please do not sign your spouse in if he/she is not attending the class.

Commit to investing yourselves faithfully.

What does that mean?

These are the THfJ Guidelines for our sessions:

1. Both Dad and Mom are required to attend class and complete the weekly homework.

Attending online classes means that both parents are present and visible each week.  Be sure you arrive on time and follow the sign-in guidelines above to avoid missing class.  Your marriage is the first priority relationship in your home.  Therefore, having both parents in class ensures a like-mindedness that will promote a healthy marriage and biblical parenting.  We praise God for having witnessed many marriages strengthened by parents working from the same page in parenting.  "Exceptions to the 'both parents' rule are listed at the bottom.

2. Because of the sensitive nature of the conversation, this class is for parents only.

Please do not allow your children in the same room and ensure they are out of earshot, even your toddlers.  We also ask that you use discretion and respect the privacy of others by not discussing other class members outside the parameters of the THfJ class.

3. Those who successfully completed the class will receive a certificate of completion.

If you receive a certificate, you can take this class again anytime at a 50% discount.  Most of our parents repeat this class at least once, and many of our families participate multiple times.  Therefore, your best effort in this class will pay off.  A successful completion means both parents:

--have completed all homework sessions and Shepherding a Child's Heart Videos.

--have not missed more than three excused class absences.

--have watched all the recorded Zoom class videos that I have missed.

4. We hope this will be an enjoyable experience for everyone. It is our desire that you engage and participate during the class.

This is an interactive class with plenty of discussions, so don't hesitate to ask questions.  We want you to leave with the ability to immediately apply what you learn and a clear understanding.  Remember, if you are thinking it, someone else is likely thinking it too, so asking the question will benefit others.  We also want to connect on a personal level.  This is an intimate class where we discuss what is most important to us: our relationship with God and our families.  It is incredibly uplifting to have a group of like-minded parents by your side, ready to support and pray for you!  So resist the urge to be reserved, and enjoy yourself!

Let's keep going, there's still a bit more!

Your THfJ Text Books

If this is your first time taking this class, you will need to purchase Shepherding a Child's Heart (SaCH) by Tedd Tripp and Child Training Tips (The Millennial Edition) (CTT) by Rebb Bradley.  These are Amazon links for your convenience, but feel free to order anywhere you'd like.  You will begin reading assignments after our first class which will be found on the downloaded weekly lesson in the top right corner of the lesson.

  • A note for those who currently own older CTT books: the assigned reading will be based on the Millennial Edition, so you can find a "Millennial Edition" table of contents from the book included in your downloads. You can use this to compare headings to find the right reading portion. Page numbers will be different.

Instructions for your Training Hearts Curriculum Syllabus

When you signed up for the class, you should have been directed to your THfJ log-in, which takes you to your Library. Once logged in, open the THfJ Parenting Course. You should already have access to 3 category boxes:

  • The binder's front pages of the syllabus ((pp. 1-7) including table of contents, etc.),

  • The binder's appendix: back section of the book with extra and necessary content for future lessons and parenting helps.

  • The Preliminary homework session, The Two Shall Be One, again, is to be completed for review at our first class.

  • The next week's Homework session will open up each Monday morning to be downloaded and saved to your computer and, again if you prefer, printed and added to a 1.5-inch binder for two-sided printing or printed and added to a 3-inch binder for single-sided printing.

  • Be sure to complete each weekly homework assignment prior to class. Please honor our copyright, and do not exceed the download limits and guidelines or share the materials with anyone not registered for the class. One set of syllabus materials is intended for each registered parent (2 per couple) only.
